Wild Women’s Rendezvous 2024

One by one, throughout the afternoon, they pulled in. The open field bordered on one side by a creek slowly filled up with trucks, SUVs and campers. Tents were brought out and set up. Neighbors welcomed the new arrivals introducing themselves as they began a relationship that would only grow from a tiny seed into a redwood by the end of the week. The first annual Wild Woman’s Rendezvous had begun. Each participant walked from the campsite to the registration table where they received their gear bag for the week and checked in. The deck at the lodge slowly filled as people began to relax, unwind from their trip and get to know each other. A meal was shared and instructions for the next day were given. Wilderness First Aid was taught by Katie Feris, Fire Building by Lindsay Persico, Shelter Building/Bushcraft by Karie Lee Knoke, Situational Awareness/Preparation/Gear by Tara Bell, Equine First Aid by Gina Weymiller, Navigation and Maps by Sarah Allen and the rifle workshop was taught by Gunwerks Long Range Shooting School. They foraged, built fires and shelters, packed wounds, practiced self defense, wrapped horses, pinned locations on OnX maps and calculated windage. The day ended with a delicious dinner and a heartfelt message from speaker Breane Lindvall. Her passion and spirit was infectious and it spread among the group like a wildfire. Chatter about the days events put the sun to sleep and eventually the last zipper closed on a tent door. Much needed rest prepared the group for the next day.

Day 2 greeted the group with bright rays of sunshine and another delicious breakfast. This days workshops for the women focused on all things shooting. The Rifles Beginner Course was taught by
